VERY IMPORTANT CHANGE
If you order Appy's Retro Scalar then you get a custom version of this SVideo input that mounts to the scalar and does not need a seperate mounting like the box in the image. Also you get a free RF input along with the SVideo input.
We have left this here as it is easier, so just buy this and if you do not order the Scaler you will get the box in the picture and a mount frame.
S-Video Pod option
One of the most sought-after inputs in retro computing monitors (because it’s so rare these days) is the S-Video input, so this is available on our monitors with the addition of the S-Video Pod. S-Video improves on standard PAL/NTSC resolution and stability, making it popular with filmmakers and video gamers.
S-Video, as some of you may recall, was an upgrade from the standard PAL/NTSC video formats. S-Video (which stands for “separate video” or Y/C, was sometimes erroneously called Super-Video) was better known in consumer video circles as part of the Super VHS specification. S-Video famously used a 4-pin DIN connector rather than a SCART or component output.
Kit includes
- Steel mounting frame to match the colour of your monitor
- Cable to connect to the internal HDMI
- Power lead
- S-Video adapter as pictured
This is a low-cost SVideo adapter board option that fits internally. We think this is great quality, and you can see for yourself in the video, but as with everything to do with our products we want to give you options to have the best where available. For the purists we have a new 3D design in the works for a mounting frame for the Retro Tink Mini and Pro modules, should you desire them, that offer a more technically perfect conversion, but of course at a higher cost.
